Welding is a critical process in many industries, particularly in construction. One of the key elements involved in welding is carbon, which plays a significant role in determining the properties of welded materials.
Carbon is one of the most important elements that affect the weldability of steels. Carbon increases the strength and hardness of the material but also reduces its ductility and toughness.

Explanation:
There are different formulas to calculate the Carbon Equivalent (CE) of steels, depending on the type and composition of the material and one of the calculators is listed above where C, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, Ni and Cu are the weight percentages of carbon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, nickel and copper respectively.

A possible reason for the discrepancy between your result and the calculator's is that you entered the weight of each material instead of the weight percentage.
